Relation between God, Soul and Body !
How old is our Universe? According to many physicists, it is 13.7 billion years old. Big Bang theory suggests that, in a flash of a second everything from singularity, came into existence! And has been into existence since then. This is the most popular theory as per the scientists in this field of study. They also say that all the atoms in matter that we see today were formed then. So, can we not say
that the soul in the living beings, must also be formed at that very time. Yes soul, which according to Hindu religion is the source of life of all beings on the Earth. Which in turn, is a part of that eternal being whom we acknowledge as God. So if God has created these atoms at that time, wouldn’t he would have created the souls at that time! Since then these souls have travelled through different bodies of various organisms. They would have travelled from a body of fish to dog to micro-organisms and probably humans.
Hindu religion speaks that our soul is a small part of God or say ‘force behind the Universe’.
So, why has God created so many souls. Probably he wanted to live the life every organism on Earth, by giving small part of himself, which is Soul! Hence he gets to live life of every organism here.
But this also arises a question on relationship between soul and body. If soul belongs to God and it is inside us, who is controlling our actions? God or us? Here is what I think is happening Some control is ours, say half and rest is Gods. We can say we share 50 -50 % share of our body with God. Then how do you decide who will do what and who will be responsible for what?
Let us see some examples to understand this better-
You can eat food but you do not digest it. Right! The work that has been assigned to you is to earn money which will fill your stomach. Rest of the work is done by God. That is, digestion. Breaking it into smaller pieces and mixing it with the fluids and extracting the energy from it. Making this energy reach each and every part of your body is done by that supreme power. Similarly, we can breathe air
but we cannot do Respiration. We just Inhale and Exhale the air but whole process of making these air particles reach every end of our body is done by God.
A process like child birth is also a very good example. We humans do the love making but then starts the huge project of child birth! From embryo to baby with all those complications. Hence we see now that how God, soul and body are connected.
